Heute wäre John Lennon 70 Jahre alt geworden. Eines aus meiner Sicht seiner bedeutendsten Lieder ist Imagine, in dem er seine Vision von einer Gesellschaft frei von Götterglaube, Nationalismus und Privateigentum ausdrückt. Zugleich ist der Song ein Aufruf für den Frieden und gilt als eine Hymne der Friedensbewegung.
Der Song ist nicht nur einfach so ein Klassiker der Popmusik. Es ist sehr aussagekräftig und hat nach so vielen Jahrzehnten nichts an Bedeutung verloren.
